The Silk Road Science City adheres to the development concepts of innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing, coordinates the spatial layout of production, living and ecology, improves public service facilities and urban functions such as scientific research, education, medical care and culture, and is committed to building an industrial ecology of "dual-chain integration" to create a trillion-dollar industrial platform; a low-carbon and green natural ecology to set a model of "dual-carbon" in the new era; a high-end and fashionable urban ecology to create a sample of intelligent living, promote the deep integration of "industry, city and landscape", build a new city of science and technology that integrates industry and city, and create an ideal city for scientific and creative talents to work and live in.

After more than a year of "catching up with the moon", in 2021, the Silk Road Science City area achieved a gross product of 181 billion yuan; completed fixed asset investment of 75 billion yuan; completed above-board industrial output value of 217.6 billion yuan; in the first half of 2022, completed above-board industrial output value of 141.67 billion yuan; completed fixed investment of 45.07 billion yuan.

Strong progress in infrastructure and livelihood projects

The Silk Road Science City has planned and laid out a "six-horizontal and seven-column" road network system, with "major arteries" such as Wei 32th Road and Wei 36th Road opened one after another, and the construction of important transportation projects such as the extension of Metro Line 6, Metro Line 15 and Feng Yi Bridge accelerated; seven high schools, 17 junior high schools, 48 primary schools and 77 kindergartens have been completed. Significant cluster effect of high technology industries

The Silk Road Science City has gathered nearly 4,000 enterprises, of which 115 are above-standard industrial enterprises and 217 are high-tech enterprises, and formed a world-class opto-electronics industry cluster represented by Samsung, Yiswell and ZTE, and a 100-billion-class automobile industry cluster led by leading enterprises such as BYD, Zhongdi Li-ion Battery and Zhengchang Electronics, laying a solid foundation for the "55611" industrial development of the high-tech zone.

High quality projects continue to increase speed and efficiency

Based on the national strategic objectives of science and technology, the Silk Road Science City has been pushing forward the construction of the Xi'an Earth Environment Innovation Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Phase I), the high-precision ground-based timing system and the advanced attosecond laser facility, as well as accelerating the construction of high-powered innovation platforms such as the National Technology Innovation Centre for Advanced Rare Metal Materials and the Xidian National Engineering Research Centre for Broadband Semiconductors.

"By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the Silk Road Science City will gather a population of 500,000 and an economic scale of RMB 1 trillion, becoming a high-energy industrial area and a high-quality urban area in Xi'an." This was the grand vision of the Silk Road Science City at the beginning of its construction. Today, as you can see, the Silk Road Science City is full of cranes, hard-working workers and construction vehicles, which are playing the strongest sound of the new city construction. In the future, it is foreseeable that, with the completion of a number of key projects, the dreams on the planning map will certainly shine into reality, and this new high-tech industrial city, which is pleasant to live and work in, will definitely become the brightest pearl in Xi'an and even in the west.
