Development Planning
Xi'an High-tech Zone is one of the first national hi-tech zones approved by the State Council, one of the six world-class science and technology parks approved for construction by the Ministry of Science and Technology, as well as the National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone approved by the State Council and the first hard science and technology innovation demonstration zone approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Over the past 30 years, Xi'an High-Tech Zone has been adhering to its original mission of "developing high technology and industrialisation", and has taken a successful path to achieve high-quality development through innovation-driven inland high-tech zones. It has achieved a series of major leaps from scratch, from small to large, and from weak to strong, with the planned area growing from 2.7 square kilometres to 1,079 square kilometres and the economic scale growing from 0.65 billion yuan in 1991 to 268.1 billion yuan in 2021.
Central Innovation District
The planning area is 50.9 square kilometres. In order to create an international financial centre on the Silk Road with a deep integration of "technology + finance + innovation" and mutual multiplication and amplification, it will become the image portal of the science and innovation city, the empowerment centre of the science and innovation ecology and the future scene of technology application.
Ecological Cultural and Creative District
With a planned area of 20 square kilometres, it will develop technology and green culture and tourism with technology tourism, ecological culture and creativity, and business conference as its core functions, and build an urban fun and leisure centre.
Hard Technology Industry Zone
It is planned to cover an area of 149.1 square kilometres, with the five innovation sources as the core, using the "Qin Chuang Yuan" innovation-driven platform to achieve collaborative innovation and industrial application, becoming the "Qin Chuang Yuan" bearing place, a demonstration place for the transformation of results and a gathering place for hard science and technology industries.
The new look of the park
The Silk Road Science City adheres to the development concepts of innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing, coordinates the spatial layout of production, living and ecology, improves public service facilities and urban functions such as scientific research, education, medical care and culture, and is committed to building an industrial ecology of "dual-chain integration" to create a trillion-dollar industrial platform; a low-carbon and green natural ecology to set a model of "dual-carbon" in the new era; a high-end and fashionable urban ecology to create a sample of intelligent living, promote the deep integration of "industry, city and landscape", build a new city of science and technology that integrates industry and city, and create an ideal city for scientific and creative talents to work and live in.
