The Central Innovation Zone Core Area Sponge City and Ecological Comprehensive Treatment Project is located in the Central Innovation Zone of Xi'an High-Tech District, starting from Xinglong 1st Road in the south and ending at Wei Dou Road in the north, with Wei 32th street as the boundary, divided into two parts: the core area section of the Central Innovation Zone and the northern section of the Central Innovation Zone.

The project has a total site area of approximately 594.3 mu and is designed by Chen Shenghong, the founder and chief designer of Chikara Design Institute and an expert from the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture, and Matthew, a famous Canadian landscape designer. There are three major landscape types, namely Bi Corridor, Hitomi Lake and Commercial Valley, which include sponge green areas, creative plazas, community parks, cultural blocks, commercial streets and other functional support. The main water system connects the core area of the Midfield Innovation Zone and various functional areas, which can meet the diversified needs of different people to get close to nature, play and relax. The project will give a strong impetus to the ecological environment and sustainable development of the high-tech zone, enhance the resilience of the city, and will become the core spine of public activities in the region in the future.
